Traumatic brain injury unit
Our certified Traumatic Brain Injury/TBI care program is tailor made to the individual. The dedicated unit understands that TBI’s affect each person differently and that each case isn’t the same. Knowing that, we make sure that each person has their own program set up that encompasses their personal needs. Our end goal on the unit is to make sure each resident regains their independence and joins their community again. We specialize in:
- Stroke Rehabilitation
- C.V.A. Rehabilitation
- Subdural Hematoma Rehabilitation
- Post M.V.A. Rehabilitation
Cognitive change
When rehabbing from a TBI there is a change in the cognitive ability in many areas from; behavior, train of thought, and then there are physical capabilities. With our medical team knowing that these are affected we strive to be hands on when doing therapy, (physical, occupational and speech) to help regain the physical aspects of being independent. When residents are not working out, our recreation team are with residents working on thought process, behavior and some fine motor skills through fun, and interactive activities.
community integration
When your rehab is complete the final step will be getting back into your community. When setting the final day to discharge back home we will have the resident and family working with our social work team. The social work team will assist you in setting up any services, if needed, so you will succeed when you join your community again! We encourage all members to be hands on during this process to ensure everyone is on the same page when the day come to go home!
